Talks

Jackie presented a talk titled ‘Books To Brighten The Winter Evenings’ in five public libraries across Dublin in December 2025 and January 2026. This was part of Dublin City Libraries’ Wintering Well series. She compiled a list of 24 books including fiction, memoir and poetry, which she spoke about for 60 minutes illustrated by a PowerPoint presentation. The list was distributed to attendees at the end of the talk.

Dublin City Libraries Feedback:

“Jackie is a warm and engaging speaker who is passionate about books and writing.  She gave a wonderful presentation on uplifting reads to help people navigate the dark days of winter.  Using her many years of experience working as a librarian, she peppered her talk with stories and anecdotes that brought the talk to life.  People left with a list of recommendations of authors and books to choose from. We were able to tie in with the talk with a book display featuring Jackie's top picks.  Highly recommended!”
